PREPARATIONS for the 2025 Zimbabwe Climate Change Sustainability Week (SW25) and Green Business Expo, to be held in Bulawayo, have reached an advanced stage.
Scheduled for September 16-18 2025, the event is being hosted by The ClimatePrenuer (Private) Limited in partnership with the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company and the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife.
The event will take place at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (Zices).
Running under the theme “Towards a Green Economy: Zimbabwe’s Roadmap to Growth”, the three-day gathering will bring together Government, business, academia, non-governmental organisations and community leaders to transform Zimbabwe’s climate challenges into green opportunities.
The 2025 Sustainability Week and Green Business Expo is designed to translate national frameworks such as the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) (2026-2030) and the country’s third-generation Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC3.0) into practical, on-the-ground action.

In an interview providing an update, The ClimatePrenuer executive chairman and co-chairperson of the SW25 organising committee, Mr Kwanele Hlabangana, said preparations were progressing well.
“The preparations are going on very well. We are thrilled by the overwhelming response from across Government, private sector financiers and international partners, who are all eager to collaborate on tangible climate action.
“The momentum behind the event is incredible, and we are putting the final touches on what promises to be the premier sustainability event of the year. Delegates can look forward to a dynamic and action-oriented programme. It’s a launchpad for sustainable development driven by a shared vision for a green future,” he said.
He said the event would serve as a platform to discover cutting-edge technologies, forge strategic partnerships and unlock tangible opportunities in carbon trading, circular economies and climate finance, while registration for delegates and exhibitors remains open.
Mr Hlabangana added that the event is key to identifying investment-ready projects in sustainable urban planning, renewable energy, water stewardship, and circular waste management.

“It will also foster public-private partnerships aligned with Zimbabwe’s climate policy and global commitments, as well as facilitate the sharing of best practices, carbon finance, climate-friendly business solutions, and community-led adaptation,” he said.
ZITF Company marketing and corporate communications manager, Mr Thandolwenkosi Nkomo, said three key conferences would be held during the expo.
“We are excited to be hosting the Zimbabwe Climate Change Sustainability Week and Green Business Expo. This event will feature three conferences: the Sustainable Cities Conference and Official Opening, the Resource Conference, and the Sustainable Tourism and Biodiversity Conference. These are aimed at bringing together various stakeholders to discuss and map the way forward towards ensuring a green economy in Zimbabwe,” he said.
The Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, will deliver the keynote address alongside other high-level speakers. The event will also feature interactive panels, technical workshops, and an exhibition showcasing green technologies and regenerative practices.
