Bulawayo gears up for Sandy’s star-studded birthday celebration

Bulawayo’s celebrated musician, actress, businesswoman and politician, Sandra “Sandy” Ndebele, is set to mark her birthday in style with an event aimed at celebrating life and uplifting others.

Dubbed “Denim on Pearls,” the celebration will take place on Saturday at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre Hall 2, from 2 pm to 10 pm.

Running under the theme “Embracing Your Inner Shine as We Celebrate Life,” the event promises a memorable experience, featuring performances by South African heavyweights DJ Tira and the Qwabe Twins.

Local DJs, Eugy and Nkosana, will also showcase their talents, ensuring the crowd stays entertained throughout.

Sandy encouraged attendees to prepare for an unforgettable experience.

“I’m a January baby, so we’re celebrating January in style together with DJ Tira and the Q-twins. Everyone should come prepared to dance as it’s going to be a day to remember,” she said.

One of the event organisers revealed that they are targeting an audience of approximately 1 000 people, with nearly 200 advance tickets already sold.

She said the Qwabe Twins famed for hit track Hamba are scheduled to perform at 7 pm, while DJ Tira will take centre stage at 9 pm.

Confirming his participation in a video message, DJ Tira expressed excitement about the event, saying: “Bulawayo, it’s going down this Saturday with DJ Tira and the Q-twins at ZITF Hall 2 for Sandra Ndebele’s Denim on Pearls event. So, pull up guys. See you there.”

Known for her exceptional contributions to Zimbabwe’s arts and culture scene, Sandra Ndebele has also been a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, inspiring many through her multifaceted career.
