“The Sports Economy Indaba aims to create a robust dialogue on how sports can be leveraged for economic development. We encourage all stakeholders to take part in this conversation,” read the city’s statement.
With growing recognition of the sports sector’s contribution to the economy, the Bulawayo Sports Economy Indaba is expected to be a pivotal moment in shaping policies and strategies that will unlock investment and development in Zimbabwe’s sporting landscape.
The city is set to host the Sports Economy Indaba on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at the Large City Hall starting at 08:00 AM. The event will serve as a critical platform for addressing key issues in the sports sector, including infrastructure development, youth empowerment, investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
The indaba will bring together athletes, coaches, sports economists, and marketing experts to discuss innovative solutions aimed at fostering economic growth through sports. The engagement is expected to highlight opportunities for public and private sector collaboration to enhance sports facilities, training programs, and commercial ventures in the industry.
