Bulawayo is the most vaccinated province in Zimbabwe

BULAWAYO has the highest percentage of its population fully vaccinated against Covid-19, statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care reveal.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, as of Sunday, 260 530 Bulawayo residents had received both doses of the vaccine which translates to about 51, 6 percent.

9758 have received the booster shot, which translates to 1,9 percent.

Bulawayo is followed by Matabeleland North with 46, 5 percent of its population vaccinated. The province has the highest percentage of people who have received the first dose – 59, 2 percent

Nationally 3 320 662 of the targeted 10 million people have received both doses of the vaccine

One death and 50 new cases were recorded on Sunday.

There were 28 hospitalised cases on Saturday, with only two new admissions, one was  asymptomatic, 24 were mild to moderate, three cases were severe.

There was no patient in the Intensive Care Unit.

The national recovery rate stood at 96 percent with the number of active cases going down to 3 909.

Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 230 452 cases, 221 180 recoveries and 5 363 deaths.
