Bulawayo man arrested for mbanje possession

POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested a 39-year-old man after he was found in possession of 1,4 kilogrammes of dagga in his house.

Gift Moyo of Entumbane suburb in Bulawayo sold dagga at his place of residence to members of the public.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Chief Inspector, Precious Simango said Moyo was arrested on Saturday afternoon following a tip off from members of the public.

“I can confirm the arrest of Gift Moyo from Entumbane suburb on Saturday for illegal possession of 1,4kg of dagga at his place of residence,” she said.

Chief Insp Simango said the police conducted a raid at Moyo’s house which led to the recovery of the dagga.

Recently, the Active Youth Zimbabwe Trust expressed concern over rampant drug abuse in Bulawayo’s Entumbane suburb which was ranked among the top four suburbs hit by incidents of substance abuse.

According to the assessment survey which was carried out by the trust in 2015 on areas affected by excessive drug abuse, Entumbane came second to Makokoba. Njube and Pumula came third and fourth respectively. – @michellzvanyanyan2
