A 36-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man has appeared in court for allegedly fondling the breasts of a 20-year-old woman suspected to be mentally challenged.
Nhlanhla Moyo of Tshabalala suburb, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga, facing charges of indecent assault. He was remanded out of custody to 27 August on US$30 bail, pending the production of the complainant’s psychiatric report.
As part of his bail conditions, Moyo was ordered to continue residing at his given address and not to interfere with State witnesses until the matter is finalised.
Prosecutor Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the incident occurred on 11 August at around 3 PM.
The complainant had gone to the shops in her neighbourhood to meet friends when he met the accused who allegedly fondled her breasts.
“On her way back home, she met the accused person, who started fondling her breasts without her consent while telling her that he loved her,” said Mr Dzimbanhete.
Moyo allegedly continued touching the complainant until a neighbour intervened, prompting him to flee. He was later apprehended by police officers who were at the shops, leading to his arrest.
