BULAWAYO swimmers can dust off their swimming costumes as the city’s municipal pools prepare to reopen for the new swimming season tomorrow.
The City of Bulawayo has announced that Barham Green, Bulawayo City Pool, Northend, Mpopoma and Luveve pools will open their gates to the public on Friday, 28 August, from 9.30am.
According to a notice issued by Town Clerk Christopher Dube, morning sessions will run from 9.30am to 1pm, while afternoon sessions will be from 2pm to 5.30pm at most pools.

Bulawayo City Pool will have slightly different weekday hours, opening from 9.30am to 2pm before reopening from 3pm to 5.30pm.
“On weekends all the pools open from 09:30 hours to 13:00 and 14:00 hours to 17:30 hours,” said Dube.
However, swimmers will have to keep an eye on the weekly closure schedules.
Mpopoma and Northend pools will be closed on Mondays, while Barham Green and Luveve pools will take a break on Tuesdays.
Bulawayo City Pool will remain open throughout the week, except on public holidays.
But it is not all about swimming and splashing.
The city said the pools will also offer garden wedding facilities, church baptism services, swimming lessons and lifesaving courses.
Dube said the reopening marked the beginning of another season of making the city’s swimming facilities available to residents.
The reopening is expected to provide residents, particularly children and swimming enthusiasts, with a recreational escape as the warmer months approach.
