MORE than 1 000 Bulawayo residents yesterday received free medical treatment from an outreach programme held by the Medical Health Expo.

The programme is aimed at bringing hospital facilities close to the people. The two-day programme organised by the Chinese Federation of Zimbabwe in conjunction with the Ministry of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators and Former Political Detainees, the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Bulawayo City Council was held at Efusini in Makokoba.

The programme saw 14 specialist doctors in different fields from China coming to Bulawayo to provide health care services such as diagnosis, minor surgeries, dermatology and gynaecology. “This is a chance for residents of Bulawayo to consult regarding their health and it has seen many of them benefiting from the specialist services that they may not normally afford,” said War Veterans’ Minister Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube

Chairperson of the Chamber of Chinese Enterprises Dr Yijin Tan told Sunday News that the team of doctors was assisted by local doctors and nurses from Mpilo Central Hospital.
