Bulls, DeMbare renew rivalry

rivalry against Dynamos with a semi-final clash in the BancABC Sup8r Cup at Rufaro on Saturday.
The Mighty Bulls, who are battling in defence of the league title, will take the BancABC Sup8r Cup as a refreshing diversion after losing the grip to newcomers FC Platinum in the league race.
Motor Action who enjoyed top spot for nearly a month, managed to keep the gap between them and FC Platinum at two points after collecting maximum points in a 3-1 win away to Masvingo. But Antipas yesterday said they will prepare for a tougher challenge against a DeMbare side that is still celebrating a rare league double over bitter rivals CAPS United at the weekend.

“This is going to be a big challenge since it is a cup game. As usual cup games are difficult. Players will need to burn a lot of energy and we will need to be really prepared for that. Dynamos will need to come all out in attack especially now when their spirits are high after beating CAPS United in the league.
“At the moment everyone is fine and fit except for Edward Tembo who has a long term injury,” said Antipas.

Motor Action have been in good form against the big teams this season and they won 2-0 the last time they played Dynamos at Rufaro in the first round of the league championship.
The Mighty Bulls, who are taking part for the first time in the competition, beat Monomotapa 2-1 in the quarterfinals at Sakubva early this month while DeMbare were 2-1 victors over Hwange at Gibbo in Triangle.

Dynamos are the holders of the BanABC Sup8r Cup and they have stressed that they want to defend the title they won for the first time after beating CAPS 3-2 in last year’s final.
Highlanders will face Shabanie Mine in the other semi-final match on August 6. Bosso eliminated CAPS United in the last eight with a 1-0 win and Shabanie Mine dismissed Gunners by the same margin at Ascot. The Premier Soccer League have suspended league matches for this Saturday to pave the way for the first BancABC Sup8r Cup semi-final between Dynamos and Motor Action but action will explode on Sunday as CAPS

United seek redemption against Monomotapa at Rufaro while Highlanders engage Zimbabwe Saints in a low key Bulawayo derby at Barbourfields. Log leaders FC Platinum will host Hwange in a tricky tie at Mandava.
