FORMER Warriors and CAPS United midfield maestro Alois “Zola” Bunjira was on Saturday involved in a car accident near Rusape.

The Makepekepe marketing manager, who was travelling to his rural home in Honde Valley, was rushed to Rusape General Hospital after the crash that occurred close to St Faith’s High School — about eight kilometres from Rusape along the Rusape–Nyanga Road.

Bunjira was reportedly on his way to conduct route certification for his Honde Valley Marathon, which he hopes to have recognised as a qualifier for the prestigious Comrades Marathon.

Details of the accident were still sketchy by the time of going to print, but fans across the football fraternity are wishing the legendary winger a speedy recovery.
