A BURGLAR broke into a dormitory at Moleli High School, threatened pupils  with a screwdriver and then stole five laptops.

Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera, told H- Metro, the incident happened on November 16, at around midnight.

Insp Kohwera said a male suspect entered into the girls’ rooms and was seen by two students who were awakened by the noise of his movements.

“They were threatened by a screwdriver which he drew from his trousers pocket.

“He ordered them to cover themselves with blankets,” said  Insp Kohwera.

“The students later screamed for help and the security personnel reacted swiftly, but could not locate the man.

“The stolen laptops types  are 3 HPs, one Life Zedir and one Lenovo, and are valued at US$1100.” Insp Kohwera appealed for information that can lead to the arrest of the burglar.

Some concerned parents told H-Metro, that there were worried about the upsurge of thefts at the school.

“I am shocked and at a loss of words. I don’t know if our children are safe at the school,” said a  parent.
