Burkinabe scribes to down tools

OUAGADOUGOU. — The union of Burkina Faso journalists working in the public media over the weekend called on its members to go for a 24-hour strike tomorrow to demand better working and living conditions.
Demands by journalists in the public media are contained in a letter written to Burkina Faso President Blaise Compaore.
“Since the committee handing in its recommendations in December 2013, no concrete action has been taken to address our concerns,” the union’s secretary general Justin Coulibaly said in the letter to the president.
“If after the end of the strike, satisfactory solutions have not been found, the union reserves the right to use all available constitutional means to achieve its legitimate demands,” Coulibaly said. – Xinhua.
