Companies must embrace emerging technologies in order to transform into relevant, reliable and productive institutions in a digital economy, ZOL chief executive Mr Denny Marandure has said.
He was officiating at the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) graduation ceremony in Harare yesterday.
Mr Marandure said digital technologies should not be used as social interaction tools only, but should be employed to enhance and innovate the business activity in the country.
“There is no economic activity that takes place outside the purview of technology, let alone that of emerging technologies,” he said.
“It has become apparent that emerging technologies are indeed the game changer in terms of today and tomorrow’s economic dynamics.
“The Internet seems to have come out of nowhere to quickly reach a critical mass.
“We are now a society driven by digital technology, such that as a nation we should not be left behind.”
