Businessman loses money to sex worker: money recovered through muthi

B-Metro Reporter

MOST men that pay for sex are usually losers and while the journey to recover lost funds can be arduous, traditional spiritual practices, such as muthi, offer potential solutions.

While the efficacy of muthi in recovering stolen goods is a subject of much debate, a recent event suggests that it may hold some power. A Bulawayo businessman who lost US$2 000 to a sex worker reportedly turned to sangoma for assistance.

The sangoma, employing ancient rituals and potent muthi, cast a spell on the sex worker.

It is believed that the spell compelled the sex worker to return the stolen money.

In a testimony shared on the popular Facebook page: Bulawayo Notice Board, the businessman (name withheld) is said to have recovered his stolen money after a sangoma’s intervention.

It is reported that a fortnight ago, the businessman in question allegedly hired a sex worker and spent the night with her at a local hotel.

While he was fast asleep, she made off with his laptop and wallet containing US$2 000.

Devastated by the loss, the businessman thought he would never see his possessions again.

However, a friend suggested he seek help from the popular sangoma, Gogo Chihoro known for her spiritual prowess.
The following day, he reportedly visited Gogo Chihoro, who provided him with muthi, instructing him on how to use it to cast a spell on the sex worker.

“Do you believe in the use of muthi to recover lost property? If you don’t, here’s a story that might change your mind.

“Two weeks ago, a prominent Bulawayo businessman, who wished to remain anonymous, hired a sex worker and spent the night with her at a local hotel.

“While he was asleep, she stole his laptop and wallet containing US$2 000. Devastated by the loss, the businessman turned to a traditional healer, Gogo Chihoro, for help.

“Gogo Chihoro provided him with muthi to cast a spell on the sex worker. The following day the sex worker, through her relatives, returned US$1 700 to the businessman, admitting that she had used the remaining US$300 to pay her children’s school fees.

“While some remain skeptical, it’s now time to believe that traditional spiritual practices can offer solutions to modern-day problems,” reads part of the post.

When contacted for comment Gogo Chihoro although she confirmed the incident, she said she was not at liberty to share the details of the businessman.

“What has been posted is true, but I can’t share the details of the businessman publicly because there is a need to treat them with confidentiality.

“Releasing the details of the businessman is unethical, as the matter was resolved in confidence. It’s just like a doctor-patient relationship where the doctor can’t reveal the details of his or her patient,” she said.

But the rising number of testimonies has also sparked curiosity and skepticism in Bulawayo.

Some wonder if Gogo Chihoro’s claims are authentic or just a carefully orchestrated marketing strategy involving paid individuals creating fake stories to promote her services.

Gogo Chihoro, also known as the Queen of Justice, hogged the limelight after she delivered unconventional justice on behalf of a gold miner from Mberengwa, Midlands Province, who lost US$30 000 to an armed gang.

Gogo Chihoro unleashed a swarm of bees to attack the robbers, compelling them to return the stolen money.

The swarm, described as buzzing powerfully, reportedly tracked down the suspects and ‘apprehended’ them before stinging them into submission.
