THE owner of 1202 Herbal Solution is on the run after a suspected US$300 000 fraud exploded.

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Andy Baleni, popularly known as Mambo Ndini, who is accused of duping unsuspecting individuals that he was selling cement at cheap prices.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said Mambo Ndini and his accomplice, Tinashe Zimunya, advertised cement on radio and social media platforms, at very low prices, luring unsuspecting individuals.

The duo gave their business address as number 10 Mbuya Nehanda Street, Harare, and purported to do deliveries within seven days of payment for the consignment. More than 70 victims fell for the scam and were defrauded of about US$300 000.

“We continue to implore members of the public to exercise due diligence before making any payments as this scam is now pointing fingers to the possibility of a pyramid scheme through the alleged sale of cement,” said Asst Comm Nyathi.
