A 31-YEAR-OLD Plumtree businessman has appeared in court after drugging and sodomising his employee.
Sipho Moses Dumani who is the manager of Dumms Palace Nightclub is being accused of sodomising his gardener, Reason Hove (21).He was freed on $100 bail by Plumtree magistrate Mr Gideon Ruvetsa, who remanded him to 8 August.
Prosecuting, Mr Stanley Chinyanganya explained how Dumani is alleged to have committed the offence at his homestead on 29 July.
“On 28 July Dumani invited the complainant to accompany him to his sister’s birthday. While they were there the accused person gave the complainant a lot to drink knowing that he could not handle excess alcohol.
“Dumani later advised the complainant to return to his homestead which is in Madube’s Suburb as they live together and proceed to sleep in his bedroom,” said Mr
Chinyanganya. On the following day around 4am the complainant felt some pain as he was sleeping. He woke up and discovered that his employer was sodomising him. Mr Chinyanganya said the complainant struggled to break loose and he rushed out of the house to alert his neighbours who advised him to make a report at the police station resulting in Dumani’s arrest.
The accused person is the first son of the late prominent businessman Samuel Chiliwa Dumani who owns Dumms Restaurant and Nightclubs in Plumtree Town.
