RUSAPE businesswoman, Gladys Svosve, has been arraigned before the courts for allegedly biting her former worker’s ear after the victim pitched up at her workplace to collect her outstanding salary.
Svosve (40), of 776 Castle Base, Rusape, is being charged under Section 89 (1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
It was the State case led by prosecutor, Mr Kudakwashe Brown, that Svosve had the intention to cause bodily harm to Miss Eunice Ndarasika (22) when she attacked her.
Mr Brown told the court that Svosve charged at Miss Ndarasika, who had gone to the former’s workplace to ask for her outstanding salary.
Miss Ndarasika allegedly got more than she had bargained for when Svosve assaulted her several times and was only saved by a passer-by.
“Eunice Ndarasika is a former worker of Skills Development Centre (now Greystream Clinic) owned by Gladys Svosve. On December 18, 2014, at around 11am, Miss Ndarasika entered into the accused person’s workplace to enquire about her salary which was in arrears.
“Upon entering, she was suddenly attacked by Svosve by being pushed outside the building. Simultaneously, Svosve dragged the complainant through the corridor where she pulled her weave and bit her right ear once.
“Dorothy Masamvu took the complainant away from Svosve to another room where Svosve followed her and used an umbrella to beat her several times and the victim was taken outside by a passerby. Miss Eunice Ndarasika sustained a cut on the right ear and bruises over her body. She was medically examined,” said Mr Brown.
Presiding magistrate, Mrs Elizabeth Hanzi, objected to the State’s move to give Svosve another remand date after indicating to the bench that it was having challenges in locating one of its witnesses in the matter.
The case will proceed by way of summons.
