ONCE known for her flashy lifestyle, a Mutare businesswoman who runs a popular liquor outlet in the city is in a debt storm after the Messenger of Court recently attached her AVM bus over an $8 000 debt.Vimbai Florence Muwandi of Manyati Bottle Store along Aerodrome Road took a Hi-Tech double door refrigerator on credit in 2013 from Mums and Homes — a subsidiary company of Teecherz Furniture and failed to pay.
Muwandi who is reportedly on the run is alleged to have relocated to Harare.
The Messenger of Court had a torrid moment trying to attach the bus since it had been sold to Cornilus Mudimu Masiyambiri of House Number 585, Area 13, Dangamvura sometime in March 2014 for $8 000.
Masiyambiri said: “I have been paying money in person to Muwandi in small instalments. I last saw her in November last year.

“She only told me that she is now staying in Harare, but I don’t know where exactly.”
An agreement of sale between Muwandi and Masiyambiri was produced in court to prove that he really bought the bus.
Teecherz Furniture which is being represented by Mr Passmore Nyakureba of Maunga, Maanda Legal Practitioners, said Muwandi is using
Masiyambiri as a pawn to save her bus from being auctioned.
The court went on to question why the bus was still at Tamuka Garage owned by Muwandi when it had already been bought with the amount paid in full.
The case continues.
