Butchie boy wins

BUTCHIE BOY won the 2018 Zimbabwe Guineas race with 0,75 lengths at Borrowdale Park on Sunday.

The three-year-old mare by Crusade, and out of Kahal, won the grade three race with the help of Fanie Chambers who was on the irons.

Owned by the Sunmark Racing Syndicate, Butchie Boy from the Bridget Stidolph yard, was outstanding in the race which he finished in 1 minute 40 seconds.

The connection walked home $4 800 richer.

Only five runners took to the starting stalls as the race was marred by late scratchings on veterinary certificates.

Butchie Boy finished 0.75 lengths clear of the Penny Fisher-trained Knuckleball who pocketed $ 1 600.

Knuckleball had Ryan Munger as the pilot.

Peggson went on to finish third as Canadian Champion, also from the Stidolph yard, completed the other place.

A total ten races were held on the day and Zimbabwe Guineas was the main race run over 1 600 meters.

Racing remains live at Borrowdale.
