BUZ in next level

10 and will be conducted by Fiba instructor, Samuel Wanjohi.
Buz president, Addison Chiware, said the course is targeting coaches from all over the country and will be dealing with the basics of the sport.

“We expect 25 coaches from all over and we are targeting those with Fiba young coaches diplomas and women coaches.

“Obviously they will be looking at people who can handle clubs, national teams and also develop those who can handle provincial teams and those who can handle special groups that is the juniors and youths.

“We are looking at the basics being covered as well as management of the game on the technical side,” said Chiware.

The Buz president said as the national association they will be dealing with the technical issues and the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee will be addressing the policy issues.

“Buz will be strictly talking about the technical side because we accessed this course through the Solidarity fund which is through ZOC and they will be talking on the policies and others.
“He (Wanjohi) will have a co-ordinator from Buz but basically he will be running the whole course,” Chiware said.

Chiware said they have had coaching courses for young coaches in the previous years and this course is an opportunity to take the coaches to another level in terms of their qualifications.

“We have accessed these courses and so far the Fiba courses we have had are Fiba courses for young coaches level 1 which is the certificate level and level two which is the diploma and it has been repeated because we want to emphasise and we want the primary and secondary schools to be handled with qualified coaches.

“Now we are beginning to take it to the next level. The last young coaches course was held this year, those are Fiba courses but we are constantly taking coaching courses province by province,” said Chiware.
