The tournament is expected to feature players from countries such as Canada, Italy, Germany, India, South Africa, Botswana and the hosts Zimbabwe and will end on December 1.
Spain-based Tinotenda Chanakira, who entered into the main draw on a wild card, said he hopes to inspire other up-and-coming players during the tournament.
“It’s exciting to be playing at home in front of my family and showcase that we have been really working hard.
“I have been working with Takanyi Garanganga and we hope to inspire the young kids to take up tennis.
“I last played at home seven years ago in Caltex. It’s amazing, incredible to have my family supporting me.
“We work really hard and the most we can do is to give our best. We are going to give everything we have,” said Chanakira.
Other players in the main draw are United States-based Takanyi who is seeded third as well as South Africa-based Mark Fynn seeded eighth.
The two automatically qualified for the main draw because of their rankings.
They will be joined by Martin Dzuwa and Malcolm Mutungamiri who made it on wild cards.
In the qualifiers Simbarashe Mtetwa and Mzingaye Sibanda will be joined by Terence Mazungaire, Ronzai Saurombe, Innocent Mhere, Alywn Mushonga, Tare Mariga, Luca Picci and Nick Fynn on wild card entries.
The top eight players from the qualifiers will proceed to the main draw.
However, for Zimbabwe the limelight will be on Garanganga who have been doing well in the past months and is currently ranked 480.
Twenty Third Century Systems injected US$25 000 including US$10 000 money prize.
Zimbabwe are co-hosting the tournament with South Africa who are hosting two other tournaments after this tournament.
