Top rhumba outfit BV Labien Musica staged a massive show at Samaz Pub and Grill in Mufakose on Saturday. The group sent fans wild as they sang their popular tracks including “Officer Ndiregerere”, “Ma Labels Chete” and new track “Cellphone” which was accompanied by a new dance as well.
The multi-talented crew showcased some fresh dances from new signings — Simon Kutura and Marvelous — who were led by chief choreographer Alex Mwenda.
Guitarist Nano Loboko literally took over the stage when he serenaded the crowd with his unique skills on the instrument, much to the delight of the female fans.
Band director Sam Ndingindi promised fans that his group were now focused and set to release their sixth album soon. “We used to have problems of splits and having members leaving to join other outfits. That is now in the past as we now have a crew which is very dedicated and professional,” he said.
The group had faced a massive exodus of key band members including chief vocalist Cuthbert Kasirori, better known as King Vhevhela, as well as some dancers who moved to Utakataka Express in the past year.
However, the Mufakose show proved that the band is now solid as they gave a near flawless performance in front of an appreciative crowd.
The group consists of Simon Kutura (dancer), Ndombe (dancer/vocalist), Freddy Atumisi, Eugene “Tbass Kaboko” Muronzi, Patrick the drummer and Zelu, who is a vocalist and a talented dancer in his own right.
Ndingindi has promised an eventful 2014 from his crew as they seek to retain their title as the premier rhumba outfit in the country, vowing to shrug off the problems which used to bedevil the group in the past.
