ZIFA Southern Region Division One Soccer pacesetters Bulawayo Chiefs bounced back to winning ways when they beat Technosphere 3-2 over the weekend in Plumtree. Bulawayo Chiefs had lost 0-1 to Black Boots the previous weekend. Goals from Proud Zireni, promising Toto Banda and young George Majika  was all they required to collect maximum points.

Technosphere’s two goals came from Isaac Zulu and Newman Sianchali.
Bulawayo Chiefs are now leading the chase with 53 points and in second place is Black Boots with 48 points.

Former national team and Highlanders gaffer Rahman “Rush” Gumbo still maintains that his team is on track for promotion.
“We are still on top so we are not under pressure. I’m positive we will win but we are taking every game as it comes,” said Gumbo.
Gumbo described the league as quite competitive.

“We knew that the second round would be challenging because every team will be fighting to either win the title or finish in a better position,” said Gumbo.

Technosphere gaffer Chrispen Ndabambi blamed poor officiating  for their defeat. “It was a tight match but officials made some unfair decisions,” said Ndabambi. He however, said he was positive they were going to bounce back in their next encounter as they aim to finish in the top four.

Black Boots beat Tsholotsho FC 2-0 to stay in contention.
Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda-coached Bantu Rovers’ chances of winning the title were dented by Mpumalanga who edged them 2-1.
Zimbabwe Saints beat Quelaton 1-0 as Mark Mathe’s star continues to glow.
