BULAWAYO-BASED film makers, Prosper Maregere and Blessings Ntambalika, have been making waves in the entertainment industry with their TV series, “Izitha.”

The action-packed show focuses on the gritty reality of ghetto life, serving as a powerful advocate for the youths, to steer clear of drug abuse.

Despite facing financial challenges, Prosper, Blessings, and their dedicated team, persevered for over a year to bring this gripping series to life.

Prosper told H-Metro that they drew inspiration from their own surroundings and were influenced by their desire to make a positive impact on society.

“It also gives a strong message about child-headed homes and it is also based on enemies who fight for leadership and territories from one generation to another.

“The journey to bring “Izitha” was not easy, I was unemployed and some people took us for granted but with my team we did our best to push through and launched it at Ster Kinekor Cinema .

“We encountered numerous financial hurdles that extended the production time-line to over a year, however, the unwavering commitment and passion for shedding light on this pressing issue motivated my team and I to forge ahead and complete the project,” he said. The series tackles these sensitive subjects with a balance of thrilling action and heartfelt storytelling, ensuring viewers are not only entertained but also moved.

As “Izitha” continues to make waves, gaining popularity and accolades, Prosper, Blessings, and their team have proved that with a clear vision, resilience, and the support of the community, dreams can become a reality.
