THE Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Cde Raj Modi says there is a need for Government to create a conducive environment to attract foreign investors in its bid to turnaround the country’s economy.
Addressing captains of industry in Bulawayo at a Business Forum last night, Dep Minister Modi said the country had to come up with a number of policies aimed at luring foreign investors.
“We want foreign investors to come to Zimbabwe. We want them to make their products here for the local, regional and international market. But for them to come they need a reason. We need to give them a reason to choose us instead of them going to another country. And we can only make them come here by making ourselves more attractive,” he said.
Dep Minister Modi said there was a need to improve on the ease of doing business, guaranteeing the safety of investments, ensuring property rights as well as formulating a number of incentives to ensure that the country becomes an attractive investment destination.
