THE Bulawayo netball end of season tournament will be used to test the recently renovated facilities for the Under-20 Region 5 Games set for Bulawayo in December.

They will also look at Zimbabwe’s preparedness to officiate at that level.

The tournament was initially set for November 29 but will now be held on November 15-16.

Takonana Nsala one of the tournament organisers confirmed that the tournament had been indeed shifted to the weekend of November 15-16 and will be used to test the Region 5 netball court facilities at White City Stadium.

Nsala said all the 16 teams are expected to participate in the event and invited the Bulawayo community to come and watch the games.

“All the 16 teams and hopefully some social teams will participate and we’re inviting the Bulawayo community to come and get a piece of the netball action expected this December,” Nsala said.

“Efforts of getting a sponsor have proved unsuccessful so far. I am appealing to the corporate sector to assist financially as the league is struggling and has resulted in some teams pulling out.”
