BULAWAYO province girls’ netball team qualified for the 2016 National Youth Games semi-finals after beating Matabeleland South 27-20 on Tuesday.

Team Bulawayo will play their last match of the pool this morning against Manicaland and later on will face Harare province in the semi-finals.

“This competition is a bit difficult because last year there were only six teams, but this year there are eight.

“Last year we played against Harare and we won 25-14 so this time it won’t be an easy match because we know each other’s play. Harare is a bit stronger and experienced because they have players who are in the Under 20 national team so we expect a tough match,” said Menfree Tanyanyiwa, the Bulawayo netball head coach.

On Monday, Bulawayo netball team won 37- 19 over Mashonaland Central.

Meanwhile, the Bulawayo football team also managed to book a place in the semi-finals after beating Masvingo 1-0 and Manicaland 2-0 before playing a nil all draw with Midlands province.

In volleyball matches that were played on Monday, Bulawayo girls won 2-1 against Mashonaland Central while in the boys section Bulawayo won 2-1 over Mashonaland Central. — @khumzallen
