POPULAR comic cartoon strip, The Byo Show won a Young Achievers Award for Best Animator at the Techno Magazine ceremony held in Harare last weekend.
Techno Magazine, one of the country’s leading technology publications organised the awards to recognise and appreciate efforts by young and upcoming technology players in Zimbabwe.
Zenzele Ndebele, one of The Byo Show executive producers said: “This award is affirmation that our hard work has been recognised nationally. This has also challenged us to do more in creating new and exciting content with better visuals as from next year.”
He said the animated video clips would continue targeting youths.
“Most of the content we produce is for the youths as we seek to educate them on the ills of making bad choices when they’re young.
“Parents are not left out as we also give them tips on how to handle their teenagers.”
Meanwhile, as part of taking entertainment to the high density areas, The Byo show’s main characters ‘Ntuthu’ played by Xolani Lunga and comedian Elando the General who plays “Ratu” will later this month hold a party dubbed “Ntuthu’s 2016 Shut Down” at Mpopoma Hall.
The show is expected to kick off at 1PM on December 30.
DJ Skaiva, Floppy X, Mzoe7, Trykun Shirati, Psykotek, Mlue J, Kid Eggo, Frost, Bennie Jones, Ozzbit, Spliffa Ray, Imkhando, Bizza, Young Target, Fiesta and R Flame will provide entertainment.
“In the past, artistes have been doing music festivals or shows in the city centre and forgetting our fans in the ghetto. This show is to shut down 2016 and bring back the vibe into the ghetto.”
