THE Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) this week met with a technical support team from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to discuss aviation security matters in the country.
The meeting, which was attended by senior officials from CAAZ and the International Civil Aviation Organisation ESAF Technical Support Mission, also sought to discuss other areas that need improvement.
During the meeting, Zimbabwe expressed its commitment to addressing any areas in need of improvement.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe is responsible for promoting and regulating civil aviation safety and security, providing air navigation services and related training.
It also manages eight airports in Zimbabwe, offering direct and fast access to the country’s tourist resort areas.
The International Civil Aviation Organisation is a specialised agency of the United Nations that coordinates the principles and techniques of international air navigation and fosters the planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth.
