ZIMBABWE will take part at the high-profile Expo 2030 Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following Cabinet approval of the country’s participation as part of ongoing efforts to showcase national innovation, investment opportunities and progress towards Vision 2030.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, during a post-cabinet meeting on Tuesday, said the global exposition running from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031 offers Zimbabwe a strategic platform to deepen international engagement and highlight national achievements across key economic sectors.
“Cabinet approved the Proposal for Zimbabwe’s Participation at Expo 2030 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 1 October, 2030 to 31 March, 2031. The Zimbabwe will participate at Expo 2030 Riyadh which will be held under the theme ‘Foresight for Tomorrow,” said Dr Muswere.
The main Expo theme, Foresight for Tomorrow, underscores the importance of innovation, long-term thinking and coordinated global action in building a sustainable, equitable and prosperous world.
“Expo 2030 Riyadh will be much bigger than the previous Expos, and will have three sub-themes, namely: ‘Transformational Technology’; ‘Sustainable Solutions’; and ‘Prosperous People’ added the minister.
Dr Muswere said Zimbabwe will exhibit under the “Prosperous People” sub-theme, which directly mirrors President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, targeting an empowered upper middle-income society.
Participation is expected to bolster Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement efforts, promote trade and investment opportunities, showcase the country’s human capital, and deepen international partnerships across key growth sectors.
