Cabman turns rapist?

The woman, who was on her way from South Africa, dropped near Irvines in Waterfalls and hired Collen Moyo (48) to Chitungwiza.
She lost goods valued at US$545 and R300 cash.

Moyo was yesterday arraigned before Harare magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei facing two counts of rape and robbery. He was remanded in custody to September 30 and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Ms Svodai Kadivirire told the court that on September 10 this year, Moyo charged the woman R100 from Waterfalls to Chitungwiza.
Moyo, the State says, drove along Seke Road and turned right after Maruta shops. It is alleged he drove for about a kilometre and stopped at a dumping area. The State further said Moyo locked the doors and ordered the woman to surrender all her belongings.

He took her handbag containing R300 and some groceries, it is alleged. Moyo forcibly undressed the woman while threatening her with death and raped her four times. The woman allegedly asked for permission to go out and relieve herself and fled. She ran to a nearby house where she was helped find transport to Chitungwiza.
She went straight to the police and made a report.
