In a statement, CABS said currency would be pre-loaded to minimise impulse buying.
“ATM withdrawal functionality allows instant cash access to the local currency of the country you are in, from more than one million Visa ATMs in over 160 countries,” the building society said.
CABS said the debit card enabled purchases to be made wherever the Visa Electron symbol was displayed, including shops, retail outlets, restaurants, and hotels.
Various banks in Zimbabwe have taken up Visa cards and mobile banking services aimed at meeting international requirements.
However, more than US$ 2,5 billion is still circulating outside the banking sector, a move that is causing the current liquidity crunch. — New Ziana.
