THE Cadav Organisation is set to host this year’s philanthropic awards at the Rainbow Hotel on 29 March 2025.
The event will run under the theme “Celebrating Sustainability: Excellence towards Community Development.”
It aims to celebrate the outstanding achievements of organisations, companies, and individuals in their dedicated efforts towards assisting the poor, environmental management, women’s empowerment, and community development.
Cadav is an organisation that is active in Paralympic sports, sources school fees and stationery for vulnerable children, and provides life skills training in Chiredzi.
The founder of the organisation, Pastor Lot Mudhimburanwa, speaking to B-Metro, said this will be their fourth time hosting these awards. He added that this year, they have gained new sponsors and partners who have placed their trust in the organisation.
“The sponsors and partners for this year’s annual awards ceremony are Thompson Properties Private Limited, Queen of Peace, and Higherlife Foundation, which has supported us from the beginning,” he said.
“Every year, we are motivated and inspired by the remarkable work done by individuals and entities contributing to the betterment of communities,” said Pastor Mudhimburanwa.
“Therefore, these awards inspire aspiring and future leaders to strive for recognition. That desire will create a strong platform for leadership growth,” he added.
Some notable figures and guests attending the event include directors from Higherlife Foundation, Higherlife
Foundation CEO Mr Philani Nyatsanza, and representatives of the Ministry of Social Welfare, among others.
The winners of this year’s awards include the Queen of Peace Organisation, Shekinah Glory Children’s Home, Nozizwe Mother of Nations Trust, and Green Vision Trust, among others.
“The Cadav awards department conducted research via social media, newspapers, and thorough follow-ups on previous practical events and activities carried out by the award participants. Our lawyers assisted in interviewing the participants and recipients of the awards,” he said.
“I spent 25 years at Copota School for the Blind, where I developed an interest in the affairs of people with disabilities and vulnerabilities. I was funded by the Higherlife Foundation for 11 years until I completed my first degree at Midlands State University,” Mudhimburanwa said.
“I mobilise sponsors to fund the awards as a mechanism for driving community development,” he added.
Looking to the future, Mudhimburanwa stated that they plan to expand beyond Zimbabwe in hosting these awards, honouring individuals and organisations making remarkable contributions internationally, not just in Zimbabwe.
“The Cadav awards are still confined to Zimbabwe; however, our registration allows us to expand beyond the country. Therefore, we hope to grow to the extent of hosting these events in the SADC region and beyond,” he said.
“Awards are a significant mechanism for performance management. They serve as motivation to encourage awardees to continue their good work. As such, our partners support us in motivating all winners to continue making positive contributions for the betterment of our country and Africa, brick upon brick,” he concluded.
