GOODBYE Issa Hayatou!
The COSAFA region, led by Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) president Phillip Chiyangwa worked hand in glove to vote out former CAF president Issa HayatouA who had been in charge since 1988(29 years).
Madagascaras Ahmad Ahmad won the CAF presidential elections, defeating Cameroonas Hayatou after getting 34 votes while the latter got 20 to his name.
In a video that was recorded soon after the elections in Ethiopia, the jovial king maker Chiyangwa said:
a?I feel elated, Iam very happy that we have destroyed the empire. When I start fighting I donat stop. Iam the most excited African. We did succeed. People were not sure but we got ita.a?
Despite conducting the election via secret balloting, SportsObama.com, has been able to uncover how federation allegiances were pitched in Addis Ababa last Thursday.
