FORGOTTEN former senior national team and FC Platinum attacking player Ali Sadiki is on the verge of joining 2015 Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn.
Sadiki, a half- brother to ex-Warriors and Highlanders goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini, signed for Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe on a five-year deal inA May 2014. Just over a year after signing for Mazembe, the playerA was loaned out to Don Bosco.
a?The club is greatly considering hiring Sadiki who is reportedly a free agent. They have already contacted him and he should be starting training with Chicken Inn anytime,a? said an impeccable source.
Chicken Inn head coach Rahman Gumbo previously worked with Sadiki when he was still the boss at the Zvishavane-based side FC Platinum. Gumbo is said to be a keen admirer of Sadikias type of play.
The Premier Soccer League transfer window closes on 31 March but with Sadiki being a free agent he can be registered at anytime of the season to bolster the Gamecocksa attacking department that has veteran Obadiah Tarumbwa, Ishmael Lawe and Ozias Zibande.
Zibande, who joined Chicken Inn mid last year, played some cameo roles for the Clemence Matawu-captained side and looks set to be one of the players who will be sacrificed to accommodate Sadiki.
Also trying his luck at Chicken Inn is ex-Highlanders and How Mine forward Thabani a?Kanua? Moyo.
Chindungwe, Chimenya find home at Tsholotsho
Ex-Highlanders captain Felix Chindungwe (34), who previously vowed that he was calling it a day, has found a home at Tsholotsho FC.
Chindungwe, who is also former Chicken Inn skipper, joins the club together with veteran striker Thomas Chimenya who turned outA for Bulawayo City last season. The duo featured for Iziqholo ZeZhwane when they took on Southern Region Division side Bulawayo Chiefs last Sunday at Tsholotsho business centre.
Waroowa, Khumbuyani at Bantu Rovers.
Former Bulawayo City, Highlanders and FC Platinum midfielder Welcome Ndiweni is training with Premier Soccer League returnees Bantu Rovers.
a?I initially thought of going back to Bulawayo City but nothing materialised. As such I recently started training with Bantu Rovers where I believe I will be able to get more game time,a? said Ndiweni.
Tapiwa Khumbuyani, discarded at How Mine, is also training with Tshintsha Guluva. The club recently hired seasoned goalminder Ndodana Sibanda.
No joy for Daudi at How Mine
Ex-Highlanders left back Julius Daudi has found no joy at How Mine amid revelations by the teamas head coach Kelvin Kaindu that they did not sign the player.
Daudi had been trying his luck at How Mine in the past few weeks.
a?We are done with our 2017 squad. We have players whose contracts were not renewedA because of age and other reasons. Julius Daudi did not sign with us. We promoted some junior players as we had to work on our playeras average age which stood at 33 last season,a? said Kaindu.
Daudi was shown the exit at the Bulawayo giants together with Chindungwe and striker Kasimero Chimbadzwa.
The latest casualty at the black and white camp is rock solid Douglas Sibanda.
Sibanda was loaned to Bulawayo City in a move that was reportedly meant to pave wayAA for Equatorial Guineaas Buale (23) and 28-year-old Kalunga from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kalunga turned out for relegated Beitbridge-based Premiership side Border Strikers last season.A Kalungaas fellow country man Yves Ebabali resurfaced at Highlanders training early this week.A Ebabali (27) was formerly with CAPS United , Kiglon and Motor ActionA in the previous seasons.
