State in her office, Silvester Nguni at a dinner organised by Royal Philips, a healthcare and lighting company last week, Acting President Mujuru said as the target date to achieve Millennium Development Goals drew nearer, a renewed spirit of partnerships was essential.
The dinner was organised as part of the company’s annual continental roadshow during its stop-over in Zimbabwe.
“Although Government has prioritised funding to the health sector, finding solutions to healthcare challenges will require partnerships. As such, we need to strengthen public-private partnerships in the health sector,” Acting President Mujuru said.
She commended Royal Philips’ move to engage Government, stakeholders and health professionals to better understand challenges faced by the sector. Royal Philips’ started its annual journey in Cape Town, South Africa in May and is expected to complete it in Cairo, Egypt under the banner: “Cape Town to Cairo Roadshow.”
This year, the company said it was engaging 17 African companies, including Zimbabwe.
