The decision was taken during the provincial executive meeting held in Bindura on Saturday to craft strategies to ensure the revolutionary party wins in the election.
“We have decided to set up teams that will include the youths, students, the women’s league and war veterans that will go out to the villages to urge people to register. They will be paying particular attention to those people that have not registered for one reason or the other and see where the party can assist them to ensure that they register,” Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman Cde Dickson Mafios said.

Cde Mafios said the decision to set up the teams was in line with the decision taken by the party’s leadership to mobilise voters.
Zanu PF has launched a campaign dubbed “Your Vote is Your Voice, Your Voice is Your Vote” urging people to register and vote in the ongoing mobile voter registration.
Cde Mafios said the provincial executive was also looking at ways to reclaim the three seats the party lost to the MDC-T in the 2008 harmonised elections.
”We had inter-district meetings in Guruve North on Friday where we went to the people to find ways to reclaim the seats we lost in the 2008 elections.
“They told us that the major reason we lost those seats was because of imposition of candidates and so we have said as an executive that when we conduct the primary elections when the dates are announced there should be no imposition of candidates this time around.
“The President has also spoken against imposition and we will ensure that the will of the people prevail,” he said.
Zanu PF lost in Mazowe Central, Bindura South and Guruve North to the MDC-T.
Cde Mafios also urged people in Mashonaland Central to observe peace ahead of the elections.
“President Mugabe has spoken against violence and as an executive we support his stance because as Zanu PF we have vibrant structures that should go and mobilise people without resorting to violence.
“We want to win the elections peacefully and shame our detractors,” Cde Mafios said.
