MORGAN ROGERS has taken a cheeky dig at Arsenal after signing for Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Aston Villa attacker completed a monster £117million move on Tuesday which made him the most expensive British transfer ever.
And he wasted no time in ingratiating himself with the Stamford Bridge faithful with a subtle jab at the North London outfit.
In his official Blues announcement, Rogers said: “I’m so excited,
“For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.”
The comment comes after extensive interest in his services from Mikel Arteta and Co.
And they did not go down well with Gunners fans, with Piers Morgan expressing his ire as he wrote on X: “They’re not even the biggest in West London… Brentford finished higher in the League last season.”
Another fuming fan responded: “The flop of this massive ego will be incredibly satisfying to watch. Sold to Burnley in a year.”
And a third added: “Can’t wait to play against Chelsea. They need to be reminded who the best club in London is.”
Rogers, 23, was one of the defending champions’ primary targets, with the club yet to really make any marquee signings in this window.
Illan Meslier arrived from Leeds on a free transfer as a depth option in goal, while Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis is set for his medical for a potential £35m move.
But their real prize is now set to join up with old friend Cole Palmer under new Blues boss Xabi Alonso.
Rogers added: “I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading.
