CAPS face resurgent Monoz

But as Monomotapa closed the door on Mangwiro, league rivals CAPS United opened one for him after they parted ways with Sean Connor.
Mangwiro’s early days at CAPS United were not so rosy as he lost his first game 2-0 to Highlanders before going down 1-0 to Black Mambas.
The Green Machine fell 3-0 to bitter rivals Dynamos and Mangwiro only picked his first point at CAPS United in their 0-0 draw with Buffaloes in Mutare.
Since then, CAPS United have struck the right rhythm.
Tomorrow, Mangwiro comes face-to-face with Monomotapa, who are walking with a spring in their step after they stunned Highlanders 3-0 last week, at Rufaro.
“I do not have any hard feelings for leaving Monomotapa and I wish them the best,” said Mangwiro.
“I spent some time there and I have now moved on.
“There are no hard feelings from me.
‘It’s a big game for us and we are looking forward to it.”
CAPS United are now home to five former Monomotapa United players — Asani Nhongo, Tapiwa Kumbuyani, Tawanda Munyanduri, Charles Chiutsa and Tendai Samanja.
Samanja and Nhongo have been ruled out of the game against their former teammates as they sit on three yellow cards.
CAPS United will also miss the impressive Hardlife Zvirekwi and David Rediyoni.
Because of his previous stint at Monoz, Mangwiro believes he could pull something out of a contest that his opponents are favoured to win because of the weaknesses created by the CAPS United suspensions.
“I know something about them after working with the entire team.
“Even the players know each other and it now depends on how they apply themselves on the day of the match,” said Mangwiro.
Mangwiro felt short-changed after being told on Thursday that Zvirekwi, Samanja, Nhongo and Rediyoni were suspended.
“I think a lot need to be improved in terms of communicating the suspension of players for the matches.
“We had trained with the players on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
“It was only on Thursday afternoon that we were informed of the suspension and we are left with only one training session to adjust.
“I am not saying players should not be suspended for picking up cards but we should be more professional in the approach and I am sure other teams feel the same,” Mangwiro.
Mangwiro said he still enjoys a good relationship with the personnel at Monoz, a sentiment also echoed by Biggie Zuze, who now heads the Monomotapa technical department.
“I learnt lot from Tau as he was my boss at Monomotapa and I was his assistant. He is a true gentleman and even after he left the club, we still find time to interact,” said Zuze.
Zuze said his players have been lacking consistency but hopes that they carry on from their game against Bosso.
