FORMER Caps United goalkeeper Witness has waded into the Chipo Tsodzo goal claim.
The former Zimbabwe Saints, ZPC (Hwange), Hwange and Caps United goalkeeper insists it was not the former burly striker who beat him. Instead he says Tsodzo gave him a slight push and caused him to miss the ball.
Tsodzo a legendary football figure who was at Bosso then, stunned the nation on Tuesday when he claimed to have scored a goal in the 4-3 win over Caps United while playing for Highlanders in August of 2004.
The goal was attributed to Highlanders goalkeeper then Tapuwa Kapini.
It was a clearance from the back that flew past Munkuli in spectacular fashion.
Of the goal today Munkuli said: “From what I know is the ball was kicked by Kapini just before centreline near the technical bench deep into the six-yard box and Tsodzo disturbed my movement through a slight push and it went into goal. I don’t know if Tsodzo had a last touch on it or not but I think it’s Kapini’s goal.”
Perhaps a couple of video replays and graphic lines may end the debate.
