Club chief executive Maxwell Mironga said Makepekepe are hoping to use their time in Chiredzi effectively.
“The coaches are responsible for the training programmes but overall such camps help the players to know each other better. It’s more about team building and bonding the players to work as a family,” said Mironga.
Makepekepe have been going about their business quietly during the off-season, with new coach Connor coming to help fortify the technical department that was led by Chitembwe.
CAPS United last won the championship in 2005 and if their pre-season is anything to go by, the Green Machine look determined to revive the glory of yesteryear.
They have signed over half a dozen new players with former Hwange defender Obert Moyo set to be their latest addition. Moyo has been training with the club and the technical department has been impressed.
“It’s the coaches who recommend players, according to positions they may need to strengthen. They wanted a central defender and Moyo is now almost part and parcel of the set up.
“They are happy with him and since he is a free agent what is left is to agree terms with him,” said Mironga.
