CAPS United players received their US$500 winning bonuses in their dressing room yesterday as the Green Machine celebrated a statement win in probably the best game of the Castle Lager Premiership season this year at Rufaro yesterday.
New Congolese striker Kope Magalu struck in his first game with a header to give the Green Machine maximum points in a classic battle.
This league match resembled a Cup final.
And, to show their appreciation of the work which the players put into this battle, the CAPS United bosses decided to pay them their winning bonuses inside their dressing room.
“The boys are happy and they have gone home in a happy mood, three points and their financial bonuses paid,” said a club source.
It was a vintage performance from Makepekepe who now look like a different club with their three new acquisitions in their team.
This means Scottland have now stretched their winless run to four games.
Magalu opened his account with his first attempt in the 36th minute to justify why Ian Bakala speaks highly of him.
Bakala’s men became the first team among the country’s big three to floor Scottland.
This is an assignment which was failed by local heavyweights Dynamos and Highlanders.
This match was played before a party crowd and it marked the first time in a long time that CAPS United fans filled the City End to capacity.
Makepekepe started their three signings, Ishmael Wadi, Magalu and Chitoshi Chinga.
The trio equally impressed as they made their presence felt in a fixture which meant a lot to the club.
CAPS United are now just eight points off the top four spot.

Bakala hailed his troops for a spirited fight.
“It feels good when the boys display this level of character and fighting spirit,” said Bakala.

CAPS United defender Bruce Kangwa was at his best again as he was at the heart of the team’s defensive unit.
Kangwa denied Tymon Machope the chance to fire the hosts ahead in the fifth minute as he ghosted from the blind side with a tackle which was rich in precision and class.
Magalu scored with his first attempt at goal in the 37th minute with a brilliant header off a fine freekick from Brian Kadamanja.
