CAPS TARGET THREE WINS IN A ROW

BACK-TO-BACK victories have given CAPS United belief and the Green Machine are now targeting three wins on the bounce.

Pushed into a must-win situation, CAPS United responded by not only winning their last two matches, but ensuring they would not concede a goal.

They beat Hwange 1-0 at the colliery and followed that up with an identical victory over Sheasham on their return to the capital after a long time.

It is the first time CAPS United have won consecutive matches this season since beating ZPC Kariba and Black Rhinos in April.

Tomorrow, the Green Machine travel to Baobab for a date with Simba Bhora, who have also found form and have since moved away from the relegation zone.

CAPS United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, expects another tough examination at the hands of Tonderai Ndiraya’s Simba Bhora.

“We expect a very difficult match against Simba, but I still believe we can win it,” he said.

“All matches are important, they are played to be won and it’s the reason why we are here.

“It’s always a challenge, just like playing every Premier League side.

“Just like Sheasham, they are very competitive and they gave everything, this is what we should expect against Simba Bhora.

“They have gone a number of matches without defeat, with just victories, and that tells you something about their confidence levels.”

Chitembwe refused to single out Devon Chafa and Rodwell Chinyengetere for their resurgence by saying that every member of the squad is equally important.

Chafa and Chinyengetere have been outstanding in CAPS United’s recent outings.

“It’s still down to the team, they can be outstanding, just the two of them, but it’s not possible to win the matches with these two only.

“It takes the effort of the whole team to perform at the optimum level for us to get a good result.

“I am happy with their contributions so far and also the contribution of the entire team when we are in possession and when we are out of possession.

“It has been superb in the last four matches,” he said.
