CAPS United will camp in Mutare for a week as part of their preparations for the Harare Derby showdown against Dynamos which club president Farai Jere has dubbed the BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON.
The capital’s biggest match, set for Rufaro on September 31, has assumed a new dimension this time with both sides battling to move out of relegation trouble.
The Green Machine are expected to leave Harare on Sunday, September 24, and return home on Saturday, September 30, on the eve of the showdown.
They will not break camp until they arrive at Rufaro for their battle against their biggest rivals.
“We considered a lot of options in terms of where the team should camp and we settled for Mutare,” Jere told H-Metro.
“It’s a massive game, whichever way you look at it, and we felt that we had to give the boys a week where they will be far away from any home distractions.
“We also felt that they also needed this time to bond together even more as a family and spending a week together, far away from home, can achieve such results.
“I have said it before that I have a lot of respect from Dynamos and, in terms of magnitude, no other game comes close when it comes to our fans and the significance of a win in such games is huge for us.
“We have done well against our fellow heavyweight clubs and beaten FC Platinum and Highlanders and we also recorded that hugely emotional win over Scottland and this shows that we can beat any team in the league.
“This is the biggest game of the season as far as I am concerned and we want our boys to be ready.”
