CAPS United have underlined their championship ambitions by becoming the first club to make significant moves in the mid-season transfer window, confirming four new signings just three days after the window opened.

The former champions have secured the services of goalkeeper Washington Arubi from South Africa’s Betway Premiership, as well as Precious Phiri, Uchizi Vunga and Botswana international Victor James.

Chicken Inn FC were also quick to strengthen their squad, signing Bulawayo-born Junior Makunike to bolster the defensive midfield position alongside Joseph Tulani and Brendon Rendo.

Makunike, a former Mpopoma High School star, reunites with coach Tonderayi Ndiraya, under whom he won the Premier Soccer League title with Simba Bhora in 2024.

Hardrock are also active in the market, bringing in Gerald Takwara from Libya, former Tanzania-based striker Prince Dube and Malawi’s McDonald Rameck.

As foreign talent continues to flow into the domestic league, FC Platinum have signed Namibian Isaskar Gurirab on loan from Scottland, while fellow Namibian Vitapi Ngaruka has joined the club on a two-year contract.

Popular Warriors right-back Godknows Murwira, renowned for leading dressing-room songs, has been loaned by defending champions Scottland to FC Hunters.

Former Harare City livewire Silas Songani, who had been a free agent, has found a new home at TelOne FC.
