Caps United are planning a 10-day tour of South Africa next month as part of their pre-season activities.
The Harare giants got their preparations for the 2016 season in full swing on Tuesday when they played Zambian side Kabwe Warriors in an international friendly match at the National Sports Stadium.
After the Kabwe Warriors match, their next major pre-season activity would be the tour of South Africa where they will play a series of international friendly matches.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe said there were plans to engage top South African sides for warm-up games.
a?We are going to South Africa for a training camp and all the details regarding the tour have just been finalised,a? Chitembwe told a local daily paper.
a?We have been advised that we will play against Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits and our president Mr Jere (Farai) said Trott Moloto (Sundowns official), have advised him that there will be no problems in us playing his team, when the South African season is in motion and they will try to assemble a competitive team for us in this friendly match.
a?This training camp is crucial as it does not only give us a chance to field players, in game like situations and assess them closely but it is also important for team-building and bonding of the whole team before the season starts,a? he said.
United have been active on the transfer market with 2014 PSL Soccer Star of the Year Dennis Dauda, Devon Chafa and former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Brian Abbass Amidu as their biggest acquisitions. – supersport.com
