MUSICIAN Captain Britain has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help him buy a car.
The artist says he needs a vehicleto help him take his career to the next level.
Captain Britain, who has slowly been carving out a name for himself on the local music scene, said:
“I’ve faced many challenges getting to shows, studio sessions, and media interviews.
“Sometimes you miss out on opportunities simply because you can’t get there on time or at all. “Having a car is not a luxuryfor me, it’s a necessity.”
The artist revealed that he is currently depending on public transport, and favours from friends, who are often unreliable and this was limiting his development as an artist.
“You can’t tell an organiser you missed a show because you couldn’t find a kombi,” he said.
“People expect professionalism and I want to give them just that.”
The GoFundMe campaign, which he started in the past few days, is already gaining attention online, with fans, fellow artists, and well-wishers sharing the fundraising link.
“I’m not just asking for handouts,” he said.
“This is an investment in a dream.
“It’s about building something sustainable. I’m grateful to those who arecontributing and sharing the campaign.
“Every dollar matters.”
He added:
“Being an upcoming artist in Zimbabwe is not easy, you need to hustle twice as hard to be heard.
“But I believe in the power of the people. If we support each other, we all rise together.
“There’s no shame in asking for help when you have a clear goal. I believe transparency and honesty will take me far.”
One fan, Tanaka Moyo, said:
“I’ve been following Captain Britain since his early freestyles. He’s talented and driven.
“If a car is what he needs to take things further, I’m happy to help in my small way.”
Another fan, Linda Nhamo from Kambuzuma, said:
“So many young artists give up because they don’t have the support system they need.
“I think it’s admirable that he’s taking this bold step and asking for help openly. It shows maturity and a clear vision.”
