High flying Zimbabwean funnyman Carl Joshua Ncube will be taking his jokes to Asia this year, as he is set to make his first ever sojourn to that continent later this year.
The news of Ncubeas Asian tour arrives hot on the heels of reports that he will be opening the first comedy club in Zimbabwe, while he also joined the cast of Comedy Centralas adult animated series, My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians.
The multi-talented Zimbabwean comedian has been a regular south of the Limpopo in the last few years, performing in a number of shows and festivals. One of his visits landed him at the inaugural Comedy Central fest, where he was identified by the show producers.
The Asia tour will start on November 14, with a performance at the Crack House Comedy Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He will perform at the same venue on November 18, 19 and December 2. He will perform in Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Myanmar.A Crackhouse Comedy Club and The Comedy Club Asia made Ncubeas Asian adventure a reality.
Ncube will later perform in France and Dubai before returning home on 16 December.
Ncube said the tour just formed part of his ambition to take stand-up comedy beyond the countryas borders, as it was an art form that could be used to market Zimbabwe to the world.
a?I really think that we can share our culture to people around the world through comedy. People think that I only make fun of Zimbabwe and all things Zimbabwean but amid the jokes I do a good job of selling our country as well,a? he said.
