Carling Black Ball Pool Champion finals begin

Sports Reporter
SIXTY-FOUR men and 16 women will battle it out in the Carling Black Ball Pool Champion finals at Raylton Recreation Club today.
Bulawayo Pool Association is playing host to the nationals of the Carling Black Label challenge for the first time.
Zimbabwe Pool Association president Trust Chifadza said they decided to spread the game around the country.

He said all was set for the national finals.
He promised that all players that were not branded with the sponsor’s regalia at the Bulawayo provincial final last weekend will be compensated this week.

The Peter Dziko-led team started preparations at Raylton on Tuesday as they seek to capitalise on home advantage.
Provincial champions Geshom Nash and Shylet Musonho are expected to be at their best.

Bulawayo Pool Association publicity secretary Donald Wadawu believes it is time for Bulawayo to shine as they seek to emulate the 2013 Bulawayo Youth Games team.

Bulawayo will seek to end their championship drought as the last one to sink the black ball was Terrance Mhindu in 2010.
Gwanda will use Matabeleland North ticket to play at the national finals as the province doesn’t have an active Pool league.

Beitbridge will represent Matabeleland South. Defending champion Charles Chikata from Harare will be the man to beat as he will be looking to scoop the big prize again.
