Everything just fell into place from start to finish. Suluman Chimbetu, Mbira DzeNharira and Paradise House’s acts made the carnival a memorable one.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority chief executive Karikoga Kaseke applauded the Government and the corporate world for making the event a success.
“This event would have not been a success without the Government and its corporate partners who managed to come on board,” said Kaseke.
Suluman and his Orchestra Dendera Kings came face to face with different people who abandoned their business to join hundreds of people to give wild cheers to the fast rising musician who did not disappoint.
He said the carnival was a platform for him to showcase his new clothing line called “Sulu”.
Mbira lovers were also treated to rare spectacle of scintillating acts from a celebrated Norton mbira outfit, Mbira DzeNharira, who danced to some of their popular songs. The audience also cheered on groups from Ethiopia and Scotland.
Paradise House Mafia, who were in the company of Trevor Hall aka Ras Jabu, represented the Rastafarian community with their float that was full of dancehall tunes much to the delight of scores of dancehall music fanatics.
Several other performances along Jason Moyo Avenue illuminated the city and continued with the mother of all parties at the Glamis Arena.
